NBME Examinations
The National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) offers standardized, objective, discipline-based, and comprehensive (interdisciplinary) examinations for assessment throughout the medical school curriculum. NBME subject exams are designed to provide institutions with effective evaluation tools and useful student performance data that can be compared with a large, representative group of students at the same stage of training.
To All Students interested in taking NBME exams:
NBME is required of All Students of the Medical University of Lublin who want to take the USMLE exams!!!
Basic Science Students and Graduates' eligibility to take any USMLE Exam:
Effective January 1, 2011: All students who are continuing and those who have completed Basic Medical Sciences and ALL previous and future GRADUATES are required to obtain a satisfactory score on the appropriate NBME proctored exam administered by the University either in the USA or Poland to be eligible to sit for any USMLE exam.
Upon completion of Basic Sciences or any Graduate wanting to sit for the USMLE Step 1 Exam, any Student would have to obtain a satisfactory score on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Basic Science Comprehensive Examination administered and proctored by the University.
Students or Graduates wanting to take the USMLE Step 2CS exam must first pass the USMLE Step 1 exam. (As stated above, to be eligible for USMLE Step 1, you must pass the NBME Basic Science Comprehensive Exam.) Students must then take a minimum 5-day USMLE Step 2 CS review course approved by the university, which includes a mock exam at the end of the course.
Students or Graduates wanting to take the USMLE Step 2CK exam must obtain a satisfactory score on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Clinical Science Exam, administered and proctored by the University.
The passing score on the Comprehensive Examinations will be announced annually by the University. Upon successfully passing the appropriate NBME comprehensive exam, students would be sponsored for either of the USMLE examination.
Attention!
All Prometric Permits are now being posted on the MyNBME Examinee Portal. When a permit becomes available, NBME notifies students via email, which includes a copy of the permit and information for logging in or creating an account on the MyNBME Examinee Portal: https://www.mynbme.org/. Please make sure you are creating an account with the same email address that you have used for NBME exams so far.
This is to inform that NBME introduced new exam fees for exams conducted from July 1, 2025.

As a result of USMLE raising the passing score for USMLE Step 2 exam, the University had to adjust the NBME Step 2 passing scores accordingly.
