Ombudsman for Students and PHD Students of the Medical University of Lublin

Since October 1, 2022, Dr. Katarzyna Hanas has been acting as Ombudsman for Students and PHD Students of the Medical University of Lublin. 

Dr. Katarzyna is a doctor of law and a researcher at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. She has completed my attorney at law apprenticeship and is an active attorney at law. 

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

The Ombudsman for Students and PHD Students acts on the basis of Rector's Regulation No. 125/2021 of 23 August 2021 (amended by Rector's Regulation No. 137/2021 of September 28, 2021) on the establishment of the function of the Ombudsman for Students and PHD Students of the Medical University of Lublin

The Ombudsman shall act self-directed, independently and impartially. They should work objectively and confidentially.

The problems with which you can report to the Ombudsman concern the student (PHD student) – student (PHD student), as well as a student (PHD student) – employee relations. 

Examples of cases dealt with by the Ombudsman concern in particular: disciplinary proceedings, discrimination, hate, interpretation of university regulations and explanation of legal lis pendens, student initiatives. 

REPORTING A CASE

Every student or PHD student can submit their case to the following e-mail address: katarzyna.hanas@umlub.pl

In order to expedite the case examination process, I kindly ask you to specify the following information in your notification:

  • Full name of the informant
  • Faculty
  • Study course
  • Form of study
    full-time / evening / part-time
  • Course type
    First degree / second degree / uniform master's degree / doctoral / postgraduate / other
  • Year of study
  • Case category:
    communication with employees,
    exams and administrative matters,
    financial and social affairs,
    disciplinary proceedings,
    harassment, intimidation, humiliation,
    internal disputes between students and PHD students,
    other;
  • Description of the problem (I kindly ask you to explain: what the matter is, what actions have already been taken, as well as what effect the student/PHD student would like to achieve)
  • Attachments (e.g. emails)
  • GDPR clause: I grant my consent to the processing of my personal data by the Medical University of Lublin in order to contact and provide assistance by the Ombudsman for Students and PHD Students of UML.
