Religious academic association

The “Luke” Religious academic association, operating at the Medical University of Lublin, deals with spiritual formation mainly of students and graduates of our Alma Mater, but remains open to people from other Lublin universities.

In the spirit of mutual respect, with respect for Christian values and ideals, young adults develop in faith thanks to the support of Sr. Barbara Cholewa, Fr. Pawel Matyjaszewski with a lot of help from Fr. Marek Szołdra and Fr. Wojciech Iwanicki.

The heart of the organization is the hospital chapel of St. Mary of the Healing of the Sick. Blessed Virgin Mary of the Healing of the Sick at SPSK No. 4 in Lublin at 8 Jaczewskiego Street (low first floor) and the Sunday Academic Mass held there at 6 pm called “Eighteen”.

DA members also meet in the “Salka” i.e. room 18 in the Didacticum College (former Student House No. 3, W. Chodźki Street 7, pos. -1).

Within the framework of the Religious academic association “Luke” there are numerous communities:

Catholic Charismatic Renewal  “Living Water” (meetings every Thursday at 20:00 in the SPSK4 chapel)
Members of the formation see the activity of the Holy Spirit in every daily activity. The community gathers for adoration, intercessory prayer, common meditation on the Scriptures; members go to meetings, conferences, days of recollection, messages addressed to groups with similar activities. Thanks to Leaders, they can share testimonies of their lives in an intimate setting and support each other in discerning the right Way.

JPII Group (meets every Wednesday at 8 p.m. in room 18 at Coll. Didacticum/through the ZOOM platform)
Each year the theme of the meetings relates to a selected publication of St. John Paul II. Sister Barbara Cholewa helps to start and summarize the discussion, in which the most important thing is the confrontation of individual experiences with the universal. The key to understanding the teachings of the Polish Pope are the daily concerns, experiences, emotions of us, the Young.

Liturgical Diakonia
Gathers our guys around the altar. They work closely with the Music Diakonia.

Music Diakonia
The loudest group in the whole DA. They praise the Lord with their singing during the Eucharist, retreats, adoration, and are responsible for the musical setting of the Academic Stations of the Cross. Together with the Liturgical Diakonia, they prepare the Liturgy of the Word. They choose hymns and their arrangements based on the instruments currently available to the formation members. You will meet them at rehearsals in the SPSK4 hospital chapel one hour before each Eucharist and in the room in Coll. Didacticum.

Media Deaconess
You can see the effects of their work in the form of posters, graphics and posts on the website of DA “Luke”.

Entertainment Diakonia
With its activities it proves that the life of a young Christian is not only prayer, fasting and almsgiving. It integrates members of other groups during holiday trips to the Bieszczady Mountains, board games, bowling or pizza outings. He encourages physical activity by organizing outings for skating, biking and canoeing. Meetings are spontaneous, depending on the interests, time and willingness of DA members. A very strong position is the Film Club, which is a weekly discussion of a film watched together.

As part of its regular activities, the Academic Chaplaincy “Luke” annually organizes:
Retreats “For a good start” (October), Advent and Lenten
Academic Stations of the Cross (musical setting)
Pilgrimage on foot to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Kębel in Wąwolnica
Holiday week-long trip to the Bieszczady Mountains
Nativity and Children's Day for patients of the University Children's Hospital (co-organizer)
Premarital course (Fr. Marek Szołdra)
Bonfire at the end of the academic year with farewell to the graduates in Pliszczyn
Trips to retreats, seminars, meetings (Renewal in the Holy Spirit)
Conferences with testimony and teaching.

DA “Luke” joins in numerous charitable actions such as the Noble Parcel, participates in the Open Days of the University of Lublin. Throughout the year, integration and entertainment meetings are held, in which we invite not only regular members of each group but all students and graduates, not only of our university.
