LEK

The LEK exam is a state-administered, standardized test for all graduates of medical universities in Poland, including the Medical University of Lublin. Its purpose is to verify the comprehensive medical knowledge and skills acquired by graduates, ensuring they meet the national standards required for safe and effective medical practice.

Administered by the Center for Medical Examinations (CEM - Centrum Egzaminów Medycznych), passing the LEK is a prerequisite for obtaining a medical license in Poland. It's also often a key requirement for the automatic recognition of Polish medical degrees in other EU countries and the UK, usually after completing a postgraduate internship.

In accordance with the requirements of Directive 2013/55/EU the license to practice in Poland can be issued after passing the license exam LEK  and  after completing a post-graduate internship (in Polish: staż podyplomowy). The LEK exams are available in Polish and English language versions.

For the details, please check the website of CEM (Centrum Egzaminów Medycznych): www.cem.edu.pl/english_m.php
